Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Mosrite is a brand founded by a craftsman who originally worked for Rickenbacker.
It is especially popular in Japan, and has been used by Char, Tatsuro Yamashita, Susumu Hirasawa, and others. (Titles omitted)
Looking overseas, it is known to have been used by Kurt Cobain and members of the Ventures.
This is The Ventures Bass manufactured in 1965.
The pickup was defective, so it was rewound.
There was a slight problem with the wiring, so we repaired it at GIB using Belden material.
The jacks and pots appear to be original, but please understand that it is difficult to be certain.
The frets are probably original.
It appears that they have been repaired by filing several times.
The neck pocket is stamped "JUL 28 1965 008".
Approximately 50% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is quite stiff, and it is a little scary to turn it any more.
Neck condition: The neck is slightly bowed, but can be played without any problems with a string height of 2.5 to 3.0 mm.
We can also repair the truss rod by replacing the frets, so please contact us.
The body and paint surface are generally weathered and have dents.
The electrical system is in good condition.
