Fender is the number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
It is loved by countless top artists, including Jaco Pastorious, Marcus Miller, and Geddy Lee. (Titles omitted)
The Jazz Bass was released as a higher-end model of the Precision Bass.
Its sharp and clear sound is loved by many bassists, and it still has an overwhelming support and shining presence to this day.
This model is a Jazz Bass made in 1980.
The neck PU volume pot is engraved with 1377936, the bridge PU volume pot is engraved with 13○○936, and the included tone pot is engraved with 1378009.
The neck PU date is 184679, and the bridge PU date is 1834○○.
From this, the general specifications are from 1979, but the tone pot and the included warranty card from that time indicate that it was manufactured in 1980.
I think it was probably manufactured between 1979 and 1980.
The body is made of ash and the fingerboard is made of rosewood, a classic composition.
This composition gives the guitar a sound that combines a wide range with a strong mid-range.
Many JBs from the 1970s have a too bland sound, but this one has a rich low range.
The nut has been replaced and the neck is in good condition.
From this point, it seems that the frets have been replaced and the fingerboard has been repaired, but I can't be sure.
The shielding may have been done later.
The sound is great, there is plenty of fret remaining, and I think this is a good guitar that will be played for a long time.
I recommend it.
About 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is stiff, but it has been confirmed to move about 90 degrees.
The neck is in a high-rise condition. The current string height is adjusted to 2.0-2.5mm above the 12th fret, which is the GIB standard, and depending on how hard you play, it feels a bit sticky in the high positions, but you can still play it without any problems.
The body and painted surface have buckle scratches on the back. There are also some scratches and other marks from dents, and the overall guitar shows signs of use.
The condition of the electrical system is good.
The tone pot has been replaced with the current CTS. The PU lead wire appears to have been replaced. The nut has been replaced. The work has been done neatly while leaving the binding intact.
