Tsubasa Guitar Workshop is a brand by Chiaki Tanaka, known for his work on Fullertone guitars.
He has a particularly strong reputation for creating basses with vintage-style motifs, based on his previous work.
This model, Earth, is based on the traditional PB (Piano Best) model.
This is a custom-ordered model by GIB.
The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is Indian rosewood—a classic combination.
The body color is white, and it features a matching headstock.
It has been aged, giving it a dignified look.
The neck pickup is a TPB5-1N, and the bridge pickup is a TJB5-2B.
The pickups are completely handmade by Chiaki Tanaka in his own workshop, from coil winding to magnetization.
They possess a vintage-like feel while also having a wide range that matches the modern music scene.
This instrument uses a PJ layout, and in addition, series/parallel switching is possible via a push-pull operation of the tone pot.
It boasts a wide range of sound variations, allowing for diverse sound shaping.
The potentiometers are CTS, and the capacitors are Orange Drop.
The hardware is all GOTOH.
It offers a sound with an open midrange reminiscent of vintage instruments, a light and comfortable playing feel, and the high playability characteristic of Japanese handmade instruments.
