The Precision Bass, introduced in 1951 as the world's first fretted solid-body electric bass, has been loved by bassists worldwide for over half a century.
This is a Precision Bass manufactured in 1972.
The neck end is stamped with ""0101-492○"".
This indicates it was manufactured in 1972.
The age was determined from the overall specifications.
The body is alder, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
A classic combination known for its rich midrange.
It has been refretted and the nut replaced.
The work was done carefully, and there is still a fair amount of rosewood remaining.

The pickups are the original gray bobbins. The volume and tone pots have been replaced with current CTS parts.
