Stem is a brand produced by Sago New Material Guitars, a handmade brand from the Kansai region of Japan.
It's positioned between Sago, which specializes in custom-order production, and Seed, which achieves high quality through excellent quality control while keeping costs down by manufacturing overseas.
It's known for producing models that retain Sago's high quality while keeping costs down by fixing specifications and shapes.
This model is the Stem version of Sago's flagship model, the Ove.
The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is rosewood, a classic wood combination.
The color is a multi-layer finish with a white base, layered with vibrant yellow and turquoise blue.
The high quality of the paintwork, typical of Sago, is clearly evident.
The pickups are original L(x)LJB.
These are standard pickups also used in higher-end models.
The controls are simple passive.
It features a series/parallel switch for the pickups.
The bridge and tuning machines are made by GOTOH, showing no compromise on hardware. The sound has a unique Sago-esque impactful low end.
While possessing a modern, wide range, it also features a well-crafted, rich midrange, making it perfectly suited to ensembles.
Fret life is approximately 80%.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork are clean overall, with no noticeable scratches or stains.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were observed.
