Combat has a long history of working with professional musicians, and their quality is highly regarded.
In recent years, they seem to focus more on direct orders and repair work, so opportunities to see their work directly in music stores are less frequent.
This model is a custom-made 5-string bass, specially constructed based on the brand's standard model.
The body has a multi-layered laminate structure, likely made of Ash and Maple.
The neck is presumably Maple, and the fingerboard is Ebony.
As you can see, the quality of the wood is top-notch. It's incredibly refined and beautiful.
It's equipped with an EMG-40J pickup set and an Aguilar OPB-3 preamp.
The tight, unwavering, and core bass tones characteristic of a laminated body, combined with the clear and easy-to-use tone of the EMG x Aguilar OPB-3 combination, are its main attractions.
It delivers the clarity of the low B required for a multi-string bass, and a modern sound that cuts sharply through the ensemble.
The frets have approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The condition of the body, paintwork, and overall appearance is as follows:
* Numerous small scratches are visible throughout, with scuffs and dents scattered on the body top and back.
* There is a 20cm darkening along the skunk stripe on the back of the neck.
* A dent, possibly a ding, is visible on the back of the headstock.
* Some rust and tarnish are visible on the hardware (likely improveable with professional cleaning such as compound polishing).
