Description & Condition
The D'Mark Guitars guitar I previously ordered from GIB has returned to me as a mint condition used item.
Below is the original description:
---
D'mark Guitars is a Brazilian guitar brand that has been around since 1998.
Its quality is highly regarded, and it enjoys support not only from South America but also from musicians in Europe and America, such as Andrew Gouche.
This model is a Special Reserve Series, specially assembled for Japan through a GIB order.
As expected from Brazil, a country rich in forest resources, high-quality woods are skillfully combined to create a beautiful bass guitar.
The body top is made of beautiful Mappa Burl.
As you can see, it's a super-grade S-class wood.
The body back is made of Brazilian Mahogany.
The neck is a 3-piece construction of Brazilian Hard Maple and Muiracatiara wood.
Muiracatiara is an unfamiliar wood, but it originates from Central and South America and is extremely hard.
Therefore, it is highly valued not only for furniture and flooring, but also as a material for knives and guns.
The fretboard is made of Hard Maple.
Blue LEDs are embedded in the fretboard, beautifully enhancing the overall coloring of the instrument.
The pickups and preamp are original.
It features a 3-band EQ, and the controls are volume, balancer, treble, middle, bass, preamp bypass switch, middle frequency switch, and LED switch.
It is characterized by its smooth playability, and this aspect, along with other playability features, possesses exceptional quality.
The sound, typical of a neck-through design, is beautiful and eloquent, resonating quietly and far.
There is a nuance that seamlessly connects from the low B string to the high C string, fully expressing the player's musical sensibilities.
It has a relatively solid and sharp sound.
You can also feel a JB-like quality.
While South American instruments are of high quality and unique, many are so unique that they present challenges in the context of electric basses, which are mainly based on North American styles. However, this brand, which has gained popularity in recent years, blends North American style, resulting in a more approachable finish.
While the through-neck trend has subsided somewhat, this is a superb item that could rekindle the style.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, so I highly recommend giving it a try.
