The quality of their guitars and basses is extremely high, and they have gained strong support not only from Marcus Miller fans but also from a wider audience.
This is the latest model, the "New Generation" V7 Vintage Alder-5, modeled after a 1970s JB bass.
While it's a replica of a 1970s model, it incorporates modern features such as active circuitry, Luminlay construction, and lightweight hardware.
The body is made of North American Alder.
The neck is made of 34-inch scale Hard Maple, and the fingerboard is made of Ebony.
The ivory binding and clay dot inlays give it a vintage-like feel.
The fingerboard features an edgeless finish with rounded edges, making it suitable for players who prefer smooth fingering.
Most players will likely have a positive impression of this feature.
The fretboard radius is 7.25 inches, faithfully reproducing the vintage style.
The pickups are the newly designed Marcus Vintage-J Revolution Pickup set.
It features a tight, trebly sound characteristic of 70s JB basses.
The preamp is a Marcus Heritage-3.
In the Vintage model, the middle frequency has been removed for more intuitive sound shaping.
The sound, with its moderately scooped midrange, tight, low-end bass, and sharp, sparkling treble, is reminiscent of Marcus's playing style.
It is particularly well-suited for percussive slap techniques and 16th-note fingerstyle playing where attack is important.
