Description & Condition
YAMAHA has been supporting the industry since the dawn of guitar making in Japan, and is like the Gibson of Japan.
Yamaha is known as a favorite of top musicians such as John Patitucci and Nathan East.
This model is the famous BB2000.
The body is made of alder, the neck is 5P laminate of maple and mahogany, and the fingerboard is striped ebony.
As for the fingerboard, it appears to be rose, but the catalog specs are as mentioned above.
The through-neck construction and PJ pickups give a sense of the era, but what is hidden is that it was the YAMAHA BB series that created that era.
The sound is beautiful and appealing, with a thick but speedy sound.
It sounds different from Fenders, but it contains many of the elements that ensembles look for in Fenders (big bass, assertive middle, and treble with visible attack).
The frets are roughly 70% remaining.
The truss rod action is a little stiff, but we have confirmed at least 90° of action.
The neck is in good condition, with some reverse warping on the low fret side, and some high ups. The current string height at the 12th fret is 2.5mm on the 1st string side and 3.0mm on the 4th string side. There are some small dents, scratches, and paint burns.
The condition of the body and painted surface is scattered with small dents and scratches. There are some 5~10mm dents scattered around the jack.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No clear modification points were found.
