Description & Condition
Xotic is a brand founded in LA by Japanese guitar builder Hiro Miura.
In Japan, its guitars are used by many famous musicians, including Yoshiteru Takahashi, BJ of Indigo Jam Unit, and Katsuji Morioka, as well as Chuck Rainey, Rhonda Smith, and Travis Carlton. (Titles omitted)
The XJ series, a Japanese-made line, has been highly praised, especially by studio workers.
While built in the Fender style, it has been updated with several modern touches.
The neck joint is positioned slightly differently than usual, allowing your left hand to reach the higher positions more easily.
This guitar is designed for modern musicians who use the entire fingerboard evenly.
The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is made of rosewood, a classic construction.
The serial number on the back of the neck has been removed.
The pickups are Lindy Fralin JB types.
The preamp is original.
There is no mini switch on the top of the body, giving it a clean design.
The push-pull controls for each volume control allow you to bypass the preamp and switch the pickup wiring (series/parallel).
The sound is refined, with sufficient low-end bass and pleasant overtones.
Playability is also extremely high, making this an overall high-level instrument.
Session and studio musicians in particular are always in demand for JBs that offer modern playability and preamps while still maintaining a traditional sound.
However, there are not many products that meet this demand in terms of quality.
We believe the Xotic XJ is one of the ideal solutions to this demand.
Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is stiff, but has been confirmed to move about 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition. The serial number on the back of the neck has been removed.
The body and finish show scattered dents, scratches, and paint peeling.
The electrical system is in good condition.
The strap pins have been replaced with Schaller pins.
