Description & Condition
Sukop Basses is an American brand that manufactures high-quality basses.
The brand excels at manufacturing multi-string and thru-neck styles, and is a high-end bass brand in its own right.
It somehow makes sense considering the fact that the company was founded around 1986.
It is highly regarded by professional bassists, including Mr. Masato Nakamura of DREAMS COME TRUE.
I have the impression that many jazz musicians use these instruments.
This is a 5-string model of the classic, the original model since the company's foundation.
It has a wild design with a wide pitch of 19mm between strings and a 35-inch scale.
Although it may be a little bit different for some people, the dynamic playing comfort is a positive feeling.
It was displayed at the NAMM show, and its gorgeous appearance is eye-catching.
The body back is ash and the top is a spotted myrtlebar.
The neck is laminated maple and purpleheart, and the fingerboard is maple.
It is equipped with a Bartolini humbucking PU, which is a bit rare, and the preamp is an NTBT, also by Bartolini.
The sound is clear and characterized by a clear and beautiful presence component.
On the other hand, it also possesses the packed midrange typical of Bartolini and the powerful nuances of NTBT, giving it the depth of character that allows it to be used in a wide range of ensembles in a variety of categories.
The remaining frets are approximately 80%.
The truss rod is a little stiff, but we have confirmed that it operates at about 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition.
The condition of the body and painted surface is quite clean and no scratches were found. There is a scratch on the pickup cover. There is a crack on the back panel near where the screws are attached.
No clear modification points were found.
