Sugi is a brand founded by Mr. Sugimoto, a legend who has supported Japanese guitar making for many years.

They manufacture high-quality guitars and basses in Nagano Prefecture, and are highly regarded by many musicians.

The NB is known as the flagship model, and is famously used by musicians such as Hojin Egawa and Mike Porcaro of Toto.

This is the NB6, a rare 6-string model in the NB series.

The body top is Myrtle, and the body back is Alder.

Needless to say, it has a beautiful appearance, but there is no doubt about the high quality of the tonewoods; it's perfect.

The neck is a laminate of Maple and possibly Walnut.

The fretboard is Ebony.

Ebony with such a deep black finish is quite rare these days.

The pickups are original.

NB's 5-string models are very common, and I've often felt their high level of craftsmanship. That impression remains unchanged even with the 6-string model; it's flawless.

Despite having 24 frets, this bass features a distinctive sound that isn't overly tight, but rather open and airy.
This characteristic seems to have a positive impact on both fingerstyle and slap bass playing.

While possessing a wide tonal range and modern playability, it remains fundamentally rooted in traditional elements.
