Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Sadowsky is a New York high street brand whose clientele includes top musicians such as Marcus Miller, Will Lee and Tal Wilkenfeld.
Until now, the Metro line was manufactured in Japan, but after Warwick took over the distribution of Sadowsky products, the manufacturing location was changed to the Warwick factory in Germany.
This is a Metroline series MV4 Will Lee model from the period when it was manufactured in Japan under the leadership of Okada International, the authorised Japanese importer, which has now become very valuable.
Neither NYC nor Metroline is a higher model, but the clear difference is the body work.
The NYC uses a chambered body, while the Metroline uses a solid body.
The NYC tends to be lighter in weight, while the Metroline's solid body is somewhat more Fender-like than the NYC.
Although it is not well known, many parts of the Metroline bass, especially the neck, were designed entirely by Mr Kikuchi of Okada International.
The detailed truss-rod effect and shaping of the fretboard surface is the result of trial and error.
The quality is highly praised by many repairmen and musicians.
The sound is powerful yet crisp, just like a Sadowsky.
Just by inputting it directly into a bass amp, you get a neat sound as if it has already been mastered.
As a WL model, it has iconic specs such as a middle boost switch and drop tuner.
There are roughly 70% frets remaining.
The truss rod is in good working order.
The neck is in good condition. Minor scratches are scattered on the tip of the head.
The body and paintwork are in good condition, with a number of 5 mm dents on the body sides. The body top and back are relatively clean with a few smaller dents.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
