moon is a long-established guitar brand representing Japan.
It is highly regarded by many professional artists, and many professionals such as Mitsuru Sudo and Larry Graham are known to use moon basses. (Title omitted)
This is a very rare model called Basic-165.
I determined that the body is Ash.
The neck is Maple and the fingerboard is Ebony.
It has a beautiful, symmetrical body that gives you a sense of ease of handling.
The PU is equipped with Bartolini's W4C dual coil PU that they were handling at the time.
The circuit is passive and the PU can be tapped (single coil) with a push-pull switch.
Very neat sound, good impression.
This is a simple but well-organized piece that shows the maker's strength.
Approximately 70% of the frets remain.
The truss rod works well.
The neck is in good condition.
The condition of the body and painted surfaces is overall tanned and yellowish. There is a sunburn mark on the top of the body where a sticker approximately 60mm in diameter was pasted. There are other small dents and scratches throughout.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modification points were found.
