Description & Condition
Momose, based in Matsumoto, Nagano, produces high quality basses and guitars.
Momose is known for its beautiful looks and excellent sound.
Momose basses are popular among professionals and have been used by top musicians such as Kazuki Isogai and Kyohei Ariga.
The MJ Five is an ambitious design based on the traditional JB style with unique design details.
The wood composition is very traditionally oriented with an ash body, maple fingerboard, and maple neck.
With the price of ash skyrocketing, I would consider it very extravagant to use it in a crushing color.
The fretboard is made of Jesker, the hardware is Gotoh, and the finish is top lacquer for a luxurious specification.
This pink coloring is elegant and beautiful.
This color is not in the catalog, so it is probably a custom color.
As is typical of the Momose brand, this is an elegant model carefully assembled with high quality materials.
The sound, which includes plenty of swinging bass and attackee, air-breathing treble, has universal appeal in an ensemble.
This is an excellent work, packed with the best of the Japanese domestic brand.
The remaining frets are approximately 90%.
The truss rod is in good working order.
The neck is slightly high.
Currently, the string height on the 12th fret is 2.0mm on the 1st string side and 2.8mm on the 5th string side, and it is playable without any chattering or clogging.
The grips were originally painted matte, but there are some areas where they have been played in and have a glossy finish. A few small scratches can also be seen.
The condition of the body and painted surface can be said to be beautiful, with only a 10mm ding on the side of the body and one crack in the paint near the neck pocket.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
