Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Modulus is a brand known for designing high quality basses with carbon graphite necks.
It is used by many artists such as Flea (RHCP) and Ue-chan (Maximum the Hormone).
This model is a gem that takes the JB style as its motif, but finished in the Modulus style.
The carbon neck is characterized by its speedy sound and responsiveness.
The sound is musical and has beautiful nuances, which is a big appeal of this model.
Pickups and preamp are EMG.
It is a type without a truss rod, but that is why I feel it has a supple sound.
There was a slight doubt as to whether the body was original, given the gap in the neck joint, the unfamiliar control cavity, and the subtle conductive paint applied.
However, the joint screws were familiar to me from Modulus.
The frets are roughly 70% remaining.
The neck is slightly forward warped.
Currently, the string height on the 12th fret is 2.0mm on the 1st string side and 2.5mm on the 4th string side, and it is playable without any sound clogging or chattering.
Scratches and small dents can be seen throughout. There are paint bubbles throughout the grips.
The condition of the body and painted surface is generally scratchy with a few mm dents.
There are signs of sanding near the elbow cut, and the gloss is gone.
There is a spot on the side of the body where the paint is cloudy.
There are two paint cracks near the neck pocket.
The electrical system is in good condition.
The pegs have been replaced with GOTOH and the bridge with KTS PR-03WB1.
The knobs have been replaced with Haramis Musical Hardware Flat Top Barrel Knobs.
The strap pin has been removed. This is not included.
Several screws on the back panel are missing.
