Mayones is a high-end brand from Poland that manufactures cutting-edge guitars and basses.
Its reputation is well-proven, favored by top musicians like Hadrien Feraud and Federico Malaman.
The Patriot is a modern model with a thru-neck construction.
The wing woods are Ash for the back and Flame Maple for the top.
The neck wood, located in the center, is a laminate of Wenge and Padauk. This technique of bonding multiple woods together reduces left-right deviation and individual differences, resulting in greater stability.
While the majority of the guitar uses relatively heavy Wenge and Padauk, the overall weight remains under 4kg. This suggests the use of carefully selected, high-quality woods.
The fingerboard is believed to be Pau Ferro.
The PU is EMG's Soapbar, and the preamp is an EMG BQC System. While not widely known, this balancer is called Active Balance Control (ABC).
The ABC is a unique circuit, with properties completely different from those of a typical balancer. While typical passive balancers inevitably incur signal loss, the ABC allows for free mixing without any loss. Its appearance is similar to a mixer's pan.
The middle frequency can be freely selected between 100Hz and 1kHz. The BQC is arguably one of the most flexible sound-shaping systems in the EMG lineup.
The body balance and fit are stress-free, and even those accustomed to playing Fender instruments will find it comfortable. The smooth tonal response is pleasant, reaffirming the appeal of using a thru-neck design and solid neck on a bass.
Despite its light weight of 3.98kg, this is a truly impressive piece with a sense of weight. Highly recommended.
The frets have approximately 90% wear remaining. The truss rod is in good condition.
