Description & Condition

Gibson is the king of the guitar world, having produced many classic instruments.
Their guitars are particularly popular, but their basses, known for their unique looks and rock sound, are also extremely popular.

This is a 1967 EB-2.
This semi-hollowbody model is one of Gibson's most well-known and popular basses.

The serial number indicates it was made in 1967.
The nut width, pickguard specifications, and pickup cover also indicate it was made after 1966.

Taking these factors into consideration, we have determined the production year to be 1967.

It is equipped with a powerful humbucking pickup at the neck end.
This is what gives it its deep, warm sound.

This quality is even more pronounced when the distinctive baritone switch is turned on.

The lack of paint on the fret side and nut side suggests that it has been refretted and re-nutted.
The actual nut width is 39.2mm, making it what is known as a narrow neck.

The combination of the airy, full tone typical of a hollowbody, short-scale bass and matching electronics creates a truly captivating sound.

Its unique, yet practical, rounded sound is a major reason why this model continues to be loved and used by so many people today.

While the sound is in a completely different genre from Fender basses, I believe the EB-2 is the most useful for those seeking that tone.

This is a guitar you should definitely experience for yourself.

Approximately 50% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is completely loose.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and finish show scattered dents and scratches, showing signs of use.
As for the electrical system, there is a rattling noise when turning the tone pot.
There is no paint on the fret side or nut side, suggesting that the guitar has been refretted and re-nutted.
