Description & Condition
Fodera, one of the world's most revered high-end bass brands.
Founder Vinny Fodera began his career as a teenager.
After working at premier workshops like Spector and Ken Smith, he established Fodera Guitars in 1983.
Their client list includes world-class musicians like Victor Wooten, Richard Bona, Marcus Miller, and Anthony Jackson.
Seeing the breathtakingly beautiful finish makes the high price tag seem justified.
This is the Imperial, crafted as Richard Bona's signature model.
The body features the familiar Olive and Ash combination.
The laminated neck, primarily Maple, is joined via a through-body construction.
It features EMG 40J pickups and Fodera's original preamp.
Overall, it's in very clean condition, clearly well-cared for.
The finish shows some weathered-check-like cracks in places.
It's incredibly playable, and the sound—that signature Fodera clarity, clean and straight—is, needless to say, superb.
Simultaneously (or perhaps precisely because of this), its sculptural beauty strongly draws the eye.
It's a piece where you feel Fodera's unique aesthetic sensibility at work, both in sound and looks.
Seeing it in person is truly moving.
I highly recommend viewing it in person.
Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is stiff but confirmed to move about 90 degrees.
The neck condition is good.
The body and finish show scattered cracks and impact marks overall.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
During neck adjustment, the truss rod's curvature caused contact with the wood, making rotation difficult.
Therefore, the wood around the rod nut has been reinforced and protected with reinforcement material to enable smooth adjustment.
