Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Fender is the undisputed number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
It is loved by countless top artists such as Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, and Geddy Lee.
The Jazz Bass was released with the positioning of a higher-end model of Precision Bass.
Its sharp and clear sound has been loved by many bassists, and even today it enjoys overwhelming support and a shining presence.
This model is a Fender Japan brand JB62 FL, which was highly regarded but has disappeared.
The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is rosewood, a classic configuration.
This model is equipped with US pickups, which have probably not been replaced. (Please bear with us as this is an area where we do not have a lot of material to judge)
Checking the catalog for the age inferred from the serial, the only fretless model is JB62-65FL.
However, looking at its specifications, there are no fret lines and position marks.
The model with them was introduced after 1996, and its model number is JB62-77FL.
It may have been manufactured in 1993-1994 and released in 1996 or later, or the Fender Japan serial and age information out there may be incorrect.
The neck PU is fat, the bridge PU has an overhang in the middle, and is sharp in the mix.
It has a singing sound as if it is fretless.
A pickguard is included but I am not sure if it is original or not.
The truss rod is in good working order.
The neck is in high condition. Currently, the string height on the 12th fret is 3.0mm on the 1st string side and 3.5mm on the 4th string side, and it is playable without any clogging or chattering.
The condition of the body and the paint surface is generally clean with some small dents and scratches. Considering the age of the instrument, it is relatively clean.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
