The Jazz Bass was released as the premium model above the Precision Bass.
Its sharp, clear sound has been cherished by countless bassists, maintaining overwhelming popularity to this day and radiating a brilliant presence.
This model is a replica based on the 1960s Jazz Bass from Fender's flagship MBS series.
It was crafted by Jason Smith.
Jason Smith is a legendary luthier who has built instruments for artists like Flea, Steve Harris, and Reggie Hamilton. (Titles omitted)
Manufactured in 2013.
The body is Alder, the neck is Maple – a classic wood combination.
It features a relic lacquer finish, giving it a well-worn look.
The fingerboard is slab-mounted Rosewood.
The certificate states it's a 1961 model, but the controls feature three knobs instead of a stacked knob.
The pickups are original.
Its sound, blending rich, substantial low end with sharp, beautiful highs, is truly classic.
The powerful low-end projection robustly anchors the ensemble.
This is a masterpiece every bassist should try at least once in their life.
We performed refretting, fingerboard correction, and a corresponding nut replacement at our shop.
The truss rod is stiff but confirmed to move approximately 90 degrees.
The neck condition is good.
The body and finish show paint chipping, dents, and scratches; however, due to the relic finish, it's impossible to determine if these are later additions.
Electronics are in good condition.
Copper foil shielding is applied.
