It is loved by countless top artists such as Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller and Geddy Lee.
The Jazz bass was released with the positioning of a higher-end Precision bass.
Its sharp, clear sound was loved by many bassists, and even today it enjoys overwhelming support and a shining presence.
This model is a jazz bass from the late 1970s.
You may recognise it as it was played by professional musicians gunning for it on the field.
The colour is what I think was pure Olympic White.
It has yellowed and polished with age, and as a result has this look.
It is not recommended for those who are particular about a clean paint surface, as there are some sticker marks and cracks scattered about.
The bass seems to have been used on stage and has many modifications.
The pots have been replaced with EXC cryo-treated CTS.
PUs have been replaced with a set of Seymour Duncan SJB-2s.
The bridge has been replaced with a SCHALLER 3-D4.
Strap pins replaced with Jim Dunlop pins.
Fretboard replaced with larger frets.
Nut re-created from cow bone.
Maybe the pegs have also been replaced on the E string.
The sound and playability is outstanding after all this tuning up.
The modern feel, with its crisp and powerful assertiveness, is combined with the vintage feel that comes from nearly half a century of production.
It's a nice sense of balance that you can only get from a modified vintage Fender.
