Burns is a brand that originated in the UK in the 1960s.

It's known for being favored by musicians like Jimmy Page and Brian May.

This is a Baby Bison Bass, likely manufactured around 1965-1966.

The body is believed to be Sycamore, the neck Maple, and the fretboard Rosewood.

One of its distinctive controls is the neck pickup density tone.

Also known as the present tone, this is like a preset tone for the neck pickup only. Turning it down reduces the high frequencies, resulting in a rounder tone.

Despite its bizarre appearance, it has a charming sound.

The frets have approximately 60% remaining.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck shows some high-frequency bowing. There is also some fret lifting at the higher frets. Currently, it's playable with a string height of 2.0-2.5mm at the 12th fret.

The body and paintwork show scattered dents and scratches. Paint cracks are also visible. Shrinkage is present on the control plate. There is a dent on the side of the body, including a gouge approximately 400mm long. The flange of the tone knob is missing.

One of the capacitors in the neck pickup density tone control was faulty and was replaced with a compatible one by GIB. The frets have been refretted. It was not possible to determine if the nut had been replaced.

There is a crack in the wood near the 0 fret, and slight unevenness between the fretboard and binding, and between the binding and neck. Currently, there are no issues with normal playability.
