Beyond, a brand founded primarily by engineers from some of Japan's leading manufacturers, has released their third vacuum tube effects pedal!

Following the Booster and Buffer, this is the Preamp.
The Preamp lineup includes three models: one for guitar, one for acoustic guitar, and one for bass.

I (GIB Saga) was deeply involved in its development, resulting in a design optimized for modern bassists.

Like the previous two models, simply passing your signal through this pedal dramatically increases the density of the low to mid frequencies, providing the distinctive tube nuances of subtle compression and saturation.

Controls are simple: Volume, Bass, Middle, and Treble.
EQ frequency bands are as follows:

・Bass 65Hz
・Middle 500Hz
・Treble 4kHz

While many EQs set the bass at 40Hz, we chose 65Hz for this pedal.

At 40Hz, the sound often becomes too blurred or muddy when boosting.
In that regard, by setting it to 65Hz, we imagined it would eliminate the problems of a 40Hz boost and provide an operation feel that only controls the bass presence and low-frequency push.

The middle is at 500Hz, and is designed to adjust the tightness of the bass sound.
Cutting it makes it clearer, while boosting it makes it seem louder.
We believe that adjusting 500Hz plays a very important role in controlling the clarity of the bass.

The treble is at 4kHz, and we intentionally did not cover the range known as presence.
Instead, we adjusted it to broaden the Q range more than the bass and middle.

We imagined it would feel like adjusting the metallic nuances of the strings and the delicacy of the touch.
It's like adjusting the high-frequency components that actually sound to the ear as pitch.

As with the EQ mentioned above, we made repeated fine adjustments to the boost amount, Q range, frequency band, etc. under various conditions, and settled on the settings that we believe are most useful for bass.

Prioritizing sound over cost, we've used Electro Harmonix 12AU7EH vacuum tubes.
Other electronic components have also been selected with performance as the top priority, without any cost-cutting measures that would impair functionality or reduce quality.

Although it's a 2S amplifier, the changes include increased headroom compared to the original, resulting in a clearer sound.

As I was personally involved in its development, I can recommend this product with complete confidence.

There are some minor scratches and signs of use. It works well.

It will be delivered after rigorous inspection by GIB craftsmen.

● Defect Warranty
