Bassics is a British brand that designs equipment for bassists.
Designed and developed by Malcolm Toft.
He is best known as the engineer on tracks such as 'Hey Jude' by The Beatles and 'Space Oddity' by David Bowie, and as the founder of TridentAudio Developments, one of the most well-known console manufacturers.
This model is a bass preamp designed primarily for live use.
The three parametric equalisers - Low, Mid and High - can be turned on and off independently, allowing for precise equalisation depending on the situation.
The simple one-knob VCA compressor is extremely natural and clear.
Two INPUTs are provided.
INPUT 1 can switch between 500kΩ and 2MΩ input impedance.
The higher impedance allows the compressor to properly accept the input of high-impedance pickups such as piezo PUs.
INPUT 2 has an independent dedicated volume.
This allows the volume to be matched even if a bass with a different output from INPUT 1 is connected.
This is a useful feature for bassists who use two different basses.
