Alleva Coppolo is a brand founded by Jimmy Coppolo based on his experience at the famous Rudy's in NY and other stores.
At the beginning, the workshop was located in New York, but now it is in California.
Many professional bassists such as Paul Turner and Wataru Suzuki are known to use Alleva Coppolo.
This is the most popular LG5.
The body is Alder and the fingerboard is Ziricote.
I think that many Alleva Coppolo made of Ziricote were distributed during the period when international transportation of instruments made of Rosewood became difficult.
I have the impression that the Ziricote fretboard sounds smarter and tidier than Rosewood.
However, I have to admit that I have not tried many LG5s to compare them, so it is hard to say.
The neck end is marked "Built for BASSCLUB CHICAGO by jimmy April 2017 Ziricote board Lacquer satin clear on neck".
On the neck pocket it says "3 TONE BURST POLY".
If you believe it literally, the neck is lacquered and the body is painted poly. There is no reason to doubt it.
Basically, it sounds and plays like a recent Alleva Coppolo, with a nice balance between loose and neat.
It is an honest and good piece.
As a side note, I heard that LG means Larry Graham. A bass urban legend.
The frets are about 80% full.
The truss rod is working and the neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork are relatively clean and beautiful, with a few 3mm dents.
The tortoiseshell back panel is slightly curved.
The electrical system is in good condition.
REQST / R-Pad (resonance pad stabilizer) is installed in the control cavity.
