Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Spector is a guitar and bass brand started by Stuart Spector in 1974 in New York.
In the early days, Vinny Fodera, who later founded Fodera Guitars, worked in Spector's workshop.
The brand's NS models exploded in popularity worldwide, and were created together with Ned Steinberger.
With the large number of European and Asian-made Spectors in circulation, American-made Spectors are rarely seen, but now, at last, they are here.
This is a top-of-the-line model.
As you can see, it has a super AAA finish.
It is painted in Deep Space Hi-Gloss.
The body top is made of Maple, which is literally Master Grade.
The body back is made of Swamp Ash, balancing sound and weight.
The through-neck joint is made of 3-piece Maple, and the fingerboard is Macassar Ebony.
The top of the fingerboard has Abalone inlays and the sides are dotted with Luminlay dots.
The scale is 34" and the pitch between strings is 0.66" (about 17mm).
The pickups are EMG 40DCX and the preamp is a Darkglass Tone Capsule, powered by 18V.
I was momentarily disappointed that it wasn't a Tone Pump, but after playing it, I understood.
The sound is super wide-range, but with the full strength of the bandwidth that only a bass can have.
I recommend using it with a good boost.
The sound has character, yet has a universal quality.
Of course, it is possible to replace it with a Tone Pump, so please consult with us about that, but first, we would like you to try playing it in this condition.
This is a rare item, so please take advantage of this opportunity.
