The quality of the guitars and basses they produce is very high, and they are highly supported by people other than Marcus fans.
This is the new Z7-4.
As you can see, this model is based on the Musicman Stingray.
The neck has a nice old-fashioned feel to it.
The Z7 has an additional PU and a more finely tunable preamp.
The body material is Swamp Ash in NT color, and Alder in others.
The fingerboard is made of Roasted Maple, Maple, or Ebony, depending on the model.
The neck material is also used in the same way, NT color is Roasted Maple, and the others are Maple.
The PU is a set of Sire Premium J+MM.
These can be mixed freely by a balancer.
The preamp has a middle freq. with controls for Volume/Tone, Blender, Treble, Middle/Freq, Bass (passive/active SW).
This is a positive for many as well, as the original Musicman Stingray did not have a passive option.
The fretboard and fretboard finish is excellent.
The finish is of high quality, which is not surprising at this price point, but is comparable to those in higher price ranges.
The nut width is 42mm, which is also in keeping with the Musicman Stingray style, and is a bit thicker.
The sound is as expected, with crisp, strong highs and tight lows.
There have not been many options for this type until now, but we feel that a great replica has finally appeared. Highly recommended.
