Description & Condition
Sire gained instant fame as the brand releasing basses supervised by Marcus Miller.
The quality of their guitars and basses is exceptionally high, earning strong support even beyond Marcus's fanbase.
This model is an updated version of the V7, inspired by the Jazz Bass.
True to Marcus's style, it features an active circuit, finished with modern classic specifications.
The neck uses roasted maple with a satin finish.
This is also known as thermowood.
Thermowood, commercialized for musical instruments by Japan's Sago, was originally used as sauna construction material in Finland.
While valued as wood resistant to high temperatures and humidity, its usefulness for instruments is evident from its adoption by top manufacturers like Sadowsky and Suhr.
Apparently, a certain percentage of thermowood is discarded during processing.
It's likely that pieces prone to warping in the future are discarded at this stage.
Sonically, it gives the impression of a richly matured nuance.
The fingerboard uses roasted maple like the neck, but this surface is finished with a gloss coat.
The edges are smoothly rounded, aiming to enhance playability.
Most players will likely have positive impressions of this specification.
The body uses ash with a clean grain pattern.
The pickup placement mirrors the Fender 70's JB configuration.
This yields a uniquely tight and powerful sound.
Unlike the V7 series, it features the new “New Marcus Heavymass II Bridge”.
This proactive adoption of new specifications leaves a favorable impression.
Controls are plentiful: Volume, Tone, Balancer, Bass, Middle, Middle Frequency, Treble, and an Active/Passive switch.
While it may seem complex at first glance, it's logically organized for bassists.
Its signature sound is tight yet rich in harmonics, delivering powerful tone with a moderate sense of compression.
This model is ideal for those aiming for a Marcus-esque sound, but we also highly recommend it to anyone seeking a high-quality jazz bass.
As this is a long-term stock item, we are offering it at a special price.
It comes with a warranty equivalent to a new instrument, covering all aspects except cosmetic appearance.
