Sire became famous as the brand that released the bass supervised by Marcus Miller.
The quality of the guitars and basses they produce is very high, and they are highly supported by people other than Marcus fans.
The U7-4 is a modern model based on the JB, but with PJ layout PUs.
The body is made of Alder and the fingerboard is made of Maple.
Classic wood construction.
The finish of the fingerboard and frets is outstanding.
Naturally in this price range, it is finished to a high quality, comparable to higher price ranges.
In addition to the original PJ-style PU, it has a 2-band EQ preamp.
These are named Marcus Super Modern PJ Pickup and Marcus Heritage 2Band EQ.
Controls include volume, blender, treble, bass and active/passive SW.
The sound is tight but rich in overtones and powerful with just the right amount of compression.
This is one of SIRE's most powerful instruments.
