ROSIÉ is a brand that puts the care of musicians' bodies first and does everything in its power to create an environment in which they can focus on their music.

The company's philosophy is to be fair to everyone involved and to ensure that these relationships are sustainable over time.

For example, in the factories that manufacture ROSIÉ products, workers are never forced to work for unfairly low labor costs.

In this way, all transactions are based on the premise of fair trade.

This includes not only the relationship with the factory, but literally all parties involved, including delivery companies, end users, etc.

ROSIÉ has released the ROSIE Straps, which are wide and have strong cushioning, and the Ultralight Guitar Case, which weighs 40% less.

The follow-up to these products is the SURGICAL STAINLESS NECK PLATE.

The theme of this product was to eliminate any concerns about metal allergies, and to provide vintage-like specifications.

Metal allergy occurs when metals dissolve in sweat or water, and the dissolved metal ions bind to proteins in the human body, causing the body's immune system to react to them as foreign substances.

Many people suffer from metal allergies, and the same problem can be said to exist with guitars.

In order to solve the problem of metal allergies in guitars, we have adopted SUS316L as a material.

SUS316L is called Surgical Stainless.

Surgical” means ‘surgical, surgical’ and ‘Surgical Stainless’ is a term coined to indicate stainless steel used for medical instruments.

There are several types of stainless steel that fall under the category of surgical stainless steel. The typical one is SUS304.

Like basic stainless steel, the surface of SUS304 is covered with an oxide film.

This makes it highly corrosion resistant and extremely unlikely to melt and ionize.

However, prolonged exposure to salty moisture, such as sweat, can break down the oxide film and ionize the material.

This situation is easy to envision for guitars and basses that sweat during performance.

To improve this problem of SUS304, nickel was increased and molybdenum was added to SUS316.

SUS316L is made by reducing the carbon content of SUS316 to provide stronger intergranular corrosion resistance.

In general, SUS316L is treated as a higher grade material than SUS304 and SUS316 because of its strength.

This is one of the reasons why we adopted SUS316L at a high cost for this product.

For musicians, sound is as important as health.

Another reason for adopting SUS316L this time is that we found that we can reproduce the size and weight very similar to vintage plates.

Here are the actual weight and thickness measurements of some plates.

Fender Precision Bass 1964 #L32874 [Weight 36g, Thickness 1.5mm

Fender Custom Shop Master Grade Jazz Bass 1997 [Weight 39g, Thickness 1.6mm

Alleva Coppolo LG5 [Weight 40g, Thickness 1.6mm

woofy basses Classic P Series Bass[Weight 48g, Thickness 2.0mm

Fender MIJ Jazz Bass[Weight 50g, Thickness 2.0mm

Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass[Weight 50g, Thickness 1.9mm

Squier Jazz Bass [Weight: 51g, Thickness: 2.0mm

Freedom Tone Shift Plate [Weight: 51g, Thickness: 2.0mm

Freedom Tone Shift Plate [Weight: 77g, Thickness: 3.0mm

(in order of weight)

As a trend, the weight of the vintage type and vintage replica type is about 36-40g, and the thickness is about 1.5-1.6mm.

On the other hand, modern type tends to be 50g or more in weight and 2.0mm or more in thickness.

There may be a reason for this, such as the cost advantage of alloys that have a thickness of about 2.0 mm and a weight of about 50 g.

Based on this data, we finally adopted a design using SUS316L as the material, with a thickness of 1.5mm and a weight of 36g.

In fact, when I replaced the joint plate with ROSIÉ / SURGICAL STAINLESS NECK PLATE, which weighs 50g and has a thickness of about 2.0mm, I felt that the high frequencies were slightly suppressed and the strength of the middle range became more pronounced.

I also experimented with replacing the plate with a vintage bass plate, but I think it is difficult to distinguish the change.

So, if you are currently using a common plate and want to get more vintage feeling, this plate will have a certain effect.

For those who like a faster, tighter texture, I think Freedom's Tone Shift Plate is a perfect fit.

As a result, we feel that this product is recommended for both those who are anxious about allergies and those who prefer a vintage-like texture.

Depending on the response to this product, we may begin work on a heavier, more modern version.

We look forward to your feedback.
