The new buddy, released in February 2025, is a delay pedal based on the concept of faithfully conveying the guitar's inherent dynamic range and sense of response.
Unlike most digital delays, buddy treats the input guitar signal as analog.
By analog mixing the digitally generated delay sound with a high quality mixer, the texture of the original sound is not compromised.
It adds an attractive delay while maintaining the rich feeling of drive pedals such as overdrive, distortion, and fuzz, not to mention the character of the guitar.
It also features a wide variety of sound characters, and you can select your favorite type from digital, tape, and record.
Also, the master (volume) control is equipped, which is somewhat unusual for a delay.
This allows the overall volume to be boosted or cut, and the volume can be controlled at the same time as the delay is active.
Of course, it can also be used as a clean booster by setting the delay level to 0.
