Freedom is a Tokyo-based guitar workshop that has gained overwhelming support from professional musicians in Japan, and in recent years their name has begun to spread overseas as well.
Originally highly regarded for their repair work, they are now focusing on manufacturing, and their works are loved by many musicians for their high quality and rational sense of design.
All basses of this brand are manufactured in Tokyo.
The wood used is carefully selected through strict quality control, and no wood that does not meet their standards is used in their products.
This quality control is only possible because we are a small workshop.
In this sense, the quality is fundamentally different from that of products made in large factories.
This model is a replica of the PB ordered by GIB.
Alder body, Indian Rose fretboard, and classic wood composition.
The paint is all lacquer this time.
We wanted this model to be enjoyed over the course of its lifetime, including the aging process.
The neck is painted in between gloss and satin.
Original stainless steel frets were used for the frets.
The model number SF-04 is a WARM type fret that is not too hard and does not lose its shine.
It should be noted that it has the highest level of playability and the sound that musicians really want in a PJ.
The neck, carefully crafted with respect for Fender manners and using stainless steel frets, is truly of the highest quality.
There is nothing particularly unique about the shape, but that is why the basic quality stands out.
The sharp response and speedy, wide-range sound also contribute to this high playability.
The big problem with PJ bass may be the fact that the unique sound when mixed is now becoming tolerable for PJ lovers.
The strange phase-twisting nuances are sometimes negative.
Not many brands have their own solution to that balance, but Freedom does.
For the PU, we adjusted the balance between the number of turns and the length of the wire by making one of the 3-string pole pieces a dummy.
For the J PU, it has been adjusted to be more high-shielded than usual to keep a neat balance in the mix.
This is very reasonable for a PJ style bass that cannot cancel noise in the mix.
This is a rare MIJ brand that always demonstrates high quotients in a stable manner.
