Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Dingwall is a globally acclaimed brand that functionally incorporates fanned fret designs.
It's loved by a wide range of musicians, from established stars like Lee Sklar, Kyle Konkiel, and John Taylor, across various ages and genres. (Titles omitted)
This model is a signature model of Kyle Konkiel, bassist of the American heavy metal band Bad Wolves.
This instrument is a high-performance model with North American wood processed in a Chinese factory and assembled in Canada.
Many design elements are the same as higher-end models, and there are no aspects that are inferior.
I feel it's of very high quality.
While it's basically finished in the DINGWALL style, there are touches of the artist's personal touches scattered throughout.
The design is said to be inspired by Lamborghini.
The body is alder, the neck is maple, and the fretboard is rosewood—a very classic combination.
The guitar is finished in Matte Army Green, giving it a massive look.
It features a multi-scale design with a 37-inch scale length for the 5th string and a 34-inch scale length for the 1st string.
This is a standard specification for the brand.
The tuning machines are the world-standard Hipshot Ultralite.
The bridge is the original Minimalist.
The quality of these hardware components is high, and no cost-cutting measures have been taken.
The pickups are the highly acclaimed Dingwall FD3-N pickups, and the preamp uses an EMG 3-band EQ.
The pickup selector operates as follows:
Position 1
Toggle Switch off: Bridge Solo
Toggle Switch on: Bridge/Middle Parallel
Position 2
Toggle Switch off: Bridge/Neck Parallel
Toggle Switch on: Bridge/Middle/Neck Parallel
Position 3
Toggle Switch off: Bridge/Neck Series
Toggle Switch on: Bridge/Neck Series, in Parallel with Middle
Position 4
Toggle Switch off: Neck Solo
Toggle Switch on: Neck/Middle Parallel
It operates as described above.
While it may seem complex, this is precisely what makes a DINGWALL a DINGWALL, and it's also the charm of this model.
With its high-range, powerful pickups using neodymium magnets, a selector with almost no limitations, and a 3-band EQ, it boasts a flawless, modern, and rational specification.
The sound is unique, with a deep, rich low end resonating tightly with a strong sense of pitch, like a piano.
Its superior performance in down-tuning makes it widely used in metal ensembles.
However, even before that, it boasts a high level of craftsmanship as an instrument, possessing a refined balance.
Regardless of the pickup used, it outputs a powerful, flawless sound.
Depending on the settings, it can produce a wide range of sounds, from JB-like to PB-like to MM-like, which is also very appealing.
This is an instrument that gives players more possibilities and expressive power than they might imagine.
We highly recommend you try it at least once.
