Description & Condition
Alusonic is an Italian brand that mainly manufactures guitars and basses that incorporate aluminum as a material.
Their beautiful looks and solid sound have been rapidly gaining recognition in recent years, especially in Europe and the United States.
This model is their new product, The Doom, released in 2024.
I had heard about this project for a long time and had expressed my opinion about it.
I understood the outline itself, but when I saw the actual product, I still couldn't help but say, "Oh, ......! I had heard about this project before and expressed my opinion about it.
This is the company's first fund fret, 34 to 36 inches.
The tuning is BEAD by default, which means it is a low tuned 4-string bass with the bottom 4 strings of a 5-string bass. (It can also be set in EADG.)
The body is Sassafras, which I have been using a lot lately.
Usually the body is chambered to reduce weight, but this one is solid.
The weight of sassafras seems to vary in one word, but that which they are keeping down seems to be solid and light enough. (It finishes at a mere 3.375 kg)
The body top is covered in aluminum, and this one has a Fossil finish.
Its beauty can be seen.
The neck is maple and the fingerboard is phenolic resin.
In the midst of depleting wood, I have a good impression of the attitude of proactively adopting new materials.
And with such a modern style, it will never have a negative impact.
The neck is very slim, but it has a graphite reinforced rod to ensure its strength.
In terms of sound, it is characterized by BEAD and low tuning, but with fresh and open nuances.
I think this is one of the reasons why basses with fund frets like the Dingwall are so useful in music with a lot of low tuning.
Although there are 24 frets, the tone is not too dark, a point that I think is unique to Alusonic.
This is a new product from the Italian brand that is currently attracting the most attention, and we hope you will give it a try.
Some cracks caused by structural mechanism problems were repaired by GIB in March 2024. Please be assured that there are no functional or external problems.
