Description & Condition
Fender is, of course, the number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
It's loved by countless top artists, including Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, and Geddy Lee. (Titles omitted)
The Jazz Bass was released as a higher-end model than the Precision Bass.
Its sharp, clear sound is loved by many bassists, and it continues to receive overwhelming support and shines brightly even today.
This is a Jazz Bass manufactured in the late 1970s.
While the serial number suggests it's from 1978, please understand that this is difficult to confirm due to the faded neck date and replaced potentiometers.
The body is made of ash, and the neck and fretboard are made of one-piece maple.
These are typical specifications for the 1970s.
The body and neck are connected with a three-bolt joint.
Weighing over 5kg, it boasts a truly impressive sound.
The pickups have been replaced with original Fender Custom Shop 60s Jazz Bass pickups.
A classic choice.
The frets are judged to be original based on the remaining binding.
The nut has been replaced.
All potentiometers have been replaced with current CTS parts, and the capacitors have been replaced with Astron .1 200v.
The tight lows, bright highs, and sharply scooped midrange are exactly what we imagine a 70s Fender JB to be.
While some of these instruments can have a thin sound, the density and rich harmonics of this one are remarkable.
Highly recommended.
The frets have approximately 50% remaining.
The truss rod is stiff, but it has been confirmed to move about 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork show overall paint fading.
There is noticeable paint chipping at the body end.
There are noticeable dents and paint chips on the side of the body.
The electronics are in good condition.
The frets appear to be original based on the binding.
The nut has been replaced.
The original pickups have been replaced with Fender Custom Shop pickups.
All potentiometers have been replaced with current CTS potentiometers.
The capacitors have been replaced with Astron .1 200v.
