De Gier is a Dutch brand founded in 1996 by Sander De Gier.
He originally focused on creating distinctive and modern bass guitars, but now primarily produces products in a Fender-style.
While the brand was already highly regarded, since releasing the BeBop, a JB-style model, its exceptional quality has kept them completely occupied with production.
Currently, in addition to Fender styles, they also offer unique models incorporating Thunderbird styles.
This particular model is a Fender-style P-bass, their specialty.
The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is rosewood, a classic combination of woods.
The bridge is in an original style, and the tuners are Hipshot.
The pickups are Kloppmann.
It features a simple passive circuit with volume and tone controls.
The finish is nitrocellulose lacquer with a relic treatment.
The excellent atmosphere created by the coloring and relicing is one of De Gier's defining characteristics.
The quality is truly high.
The sound is vibrant and fresh, with a full bass, rich midrange, and juicy treble.
It fulfills the range required of a bass in an ensemble while resonating with the bassist's heartstrings.
Despite being a 5-string bass, the 3rd and 4th strings maintain an open nuance, and the 1st and 2nd strings retain their delicious midrange.
It possesses a beautiful character from low to high without any negative elements.
The clear articulation of the low B and the trebly nuance are also appealing; I know very few manufacturers that can produce a bass like this.
