Xotic is a brand founded in LA by Japanese builder Hiro Miura.
In Japan, many famous musicians use Xotic guitars, including Yoshiki Takahashi, BJ from indigo jam unit, and Katsushi Morioka. Internationally, many famous musicians such as Chuck Rainey, Rhonda Smith, and Travis Carlton use Xotic guitars. (Titles omitted)
This is the most popular model, the XJ-1T.
The XJ series, manufactured in Japan, has been highly regarded, especially among studio workers.
While basically made in the Fender style, several aspects have been updated with modern touches.
The body is made of ash, and the fretboard is maple.
The finish is urethane, and the color is White Blonde.
This look is very popular.
The position markers use Luminova, which glows in the dark.
The tuning machines are HIPSHOT Ultralite, and the bridge is a HIPSHOT Style A.
The pickups are Raw Vintage.
These are handmade in California and are characterized by their clear, crisp, and raw output. This guitar offers a more sensitive response to the player's fingertips than before.
The neck pickup is deeper, the bridge pickup is more three-dimensional, and the mix delivers a clear, tight low end.
The preamp is an Xotic original.
Controls include neck volume (active/passive switch), bridge volume (series/parallel switch), master tone, treble, middle, bass, middle frequency switch, and treble frequency switch.
The sound is refined, with ample low frequencies and pleasing harmonics.
Playability is also extremely high, making it a high-level overall instrument.
Especially for session and studio musicians, there's always a demand for a JB with modern playability and preamp features, yet a traditional sound.
