The Precision Bass, the world's first mass-produced fretted solid-body electric bass, instantly captivated bassists worldwide.
Its appeal remains unchanged even more than half a century after its creation, and it continues to be loved by many players.
Fender Japan started in the 1980s as a Japanese-made Fender brand, but is now integrated into Fender itself.
However, the brand's quality is still supported by many artists, and it remains highly popular.
This model is a PB62, a reproduction of the 1962-style Precision Bass.
The neck end is stamped "9-3'82," indicating it was manufactured in 1982.
While we cannot definitively confirm it's a JV serial number as the serial number is not visible, it is likely from the early period of Fender Japan. The body is alder, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
The pickups are original.
The potentiometers, jack, and capacitors have been replaced.
It features the open playing feel characteristic of a Precision Bass, and a solid low-to-mid range.
