Description & Condition
Gibson is a king of guitars, having produced numerous legendary instruments.
While their guitars are particularly popular, their basses, with their distinctive looks and rock-oriented sound, are also extremely popular.
This is the RD BASS, one of Gibson's most distinctive basses.
The serial number on the back of the headstock is "72807091," indicating it was manufactured in 1977.
All the potentiometers are stamped with "1377730."
Based on these factors, we determined it was manufactured in 1977.
The body is made of maple.
Its iconic form is reminiscent of a non-reverse Thunderbird.
The neck is a 3-piece maple laminate type, and the fretboard is also maple.
The pickups are original.
As expected from a bass constructed of maple, it features a sound with a wide low end.
It has a tighter nuance than the brand's EB or Thunderbird models, making it more suitable for rock ensembles.
