This product has been leveled using PLEK.
The string height at the 12th fret will be 1.5mm for the G string and 2.0mm for the E string (2.3mm for the Low-B string).
Stem is a brand produced by Sago New Material Guitars, a handmade brand from the Kansai region of Japan.
Stem is positioned between Sago, which specializes in custom-order production, and Seed, which achieves high quality through excellent quality control while keeping costs down by manufacturing overseas.
Stem is known for producing models that retain Sago's high quality while keeping costs down by fixing specifications and shapes.
This model is the Stem version of Sago's flagship model, the Classic Style J4.
The body is made of alder, the fingerboard is rosewood, and the neck is hard maple, a classic wood combination.
The finish is Sago's signature thin lacquer.
Furthermore, it has been given a realistic aged finish, giving it an outstanding look.
The staff who applied this aging treatment were formerly Fender craftsmen, part of the team of the highly acclaimed Master Builder Carlos Lopez.
At Carlos's team, they primarily worked on relicing, and were highly regarded both inside and outside the company.
The pickups are original L(x) BJ4s.
The winding count has been slightly increased, resulting in a pickup that blends well into an ensemble and has excellent projection.
The tuning keys are Gotoh GB528, and the bridge is a spiral saddle type.
These hardware components have also been aged, and combined with the "Heavy Aged" finish on the body, they exude the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been played for many years.
The sound has the open nuances characteristic of the Stem.
While featuring a strong, punchy low-mid range, it has a very well-balanced output from low to high frequencies, resulting in a straightforward and easy-to-use sound.
The Stem is not simply a cheaper version of Sago.
