Description & Condition

HEX Guitars is a South Korea-based brand specializing in entry-level to mid-range guitars.

They own their own factory in Indonesia, and the company president himself lives there to maintain a high level of quality control.

This dedication, evident in the president's personal involvement rather than outsourcing, allows them to produce guitars of a quality far exceeding what one might expect from their price point.

The NB505 is the base model for their newly launched "NEXT SERIES."

It features modern and comprehensive specifications, including fanned frets and active circuitry.

The refined body shape is crafted from mahogany.

The neck utilizes a laminated design of maple and walnut.

By laminating several pieces of wood to form the neck, left-right asymmetry is minimized, resulting in high stability and robustness.

The fretboard is made of walnut, with a relatively flat 12-inch radius.

The neck shape is relatively thin, a slim C-shape.

The frets are made of stainless steel.

Stainless steel is characterized by its lack of tarnish and high hardness.

The pickups are original single-coil pickups.

They use original pickups in many of their models.

This is not for cost-cutting purposes, but because they are confident in the quality of their self-designed pickups.

The pickups are designed by staff who know music and play it regularly, after thoroughly researching many elements such as magnets, wires, and bobbins.

It has been converted to passive, and the pickguard, wiring, and potentiometers have been replaced accordingly.

A plate has been added to the position of the strap pin on the neck side, and the pin position has changed.

The end pin position has also changed, and there are signs of repair where the original screw holes were.

It has a clean sound typical of a headless guitar, but it does not lose musical harmonics or rich bass.

The basic quality of the neck area is very high, resulting in excellent playability, and it would be difficult to say that it is inferior to instruments costing around 200,000 yen.

Overall, this is a superb product with high quality in terms of looks, playability, and sound.

While the headless design might deter some, I highly recommend trying it out in person.

You'll likely be surprised by its high quality.

The frets have approximately 80% remaining.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

There are some scratches on the body and paintwork.

The electronics are in good condition.

It has been converted to passive, so the wiring, potentiometers, and pickguard have been replaced. A plate has been added to the neck strap pin location, changing the pin's position. The end pin position has also changed, and there are signs of repair where the original screw holes were.
