Description & Condition
Rickenbacker is one of the most traditional guitar brands, enjoying strong support from many musicians.
The 4003 is positioned as Rickenbacker's flagship model.
While its basic specifications follow the legendary 4001, it has been updated for modern bassists, primarily in terms of hardware such as the truss rod and pickups.
This is the 4003S, which differs slightly in decoration from the 4003, but is fundamentally a similar model.
The body and neck are made of maple.
The fingerboard is made of gloss-finished rosewood.
This is a classic combination for the brand, producing a rich low end and powerful attack.
The pickups are original 2 Single Coil Pickups.
These are known as high-gain pickups, outputting a sound with a uniquely thick low-mid range.
The truss rod is a single double-action rod, the bridge is a newly designed model, and the neck is slimmer, making it a more modern update.
The greatest appeal of this model lies in its extremely thick low-mids and dense lows, and its sharp, metallic attack.
Its sound possesses the mass of a steel ball.
An iconic instrument that has continued to be a staple in heavy rock ensembles.
Its usefulness has been proven by many great musicians.
The frets have approximately 60% remaining.
The truss rod is stiff, but it has been confirmed to move about 90 degrees.
The neck has low, flat frets, but it is playable without problems with a string height of 2.5mm for the G string and 3.0mm for the E string at the 12th fret.
The body and paintwork show scattered dents and scratches. There are two large paint cracks on the body end.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
