This is a compressor from the popular brand Limetone Audio.
The controls are limited to just five: Compression, Level, Gain, Treble, and Bass.
While compressors typically have controls for ratio, threshold, attack time, and release time, these are pre-set to some extent by the manufacturer.
An LED lights up depending on the compression level, making it easy to set the compressor to apply at your desired input level.
Compressors are usually very difficult to set up, but the UI design that achieves such simple controls is superb!
The preset tone is excellent; simply running the signal through it slightly boosts the sound.
Compressors often cause the sound to recede slightly, but this one is intentionally designed to avoid that.
This showcases the manufacturer's design sense.
Gain and Level are separate controls, but increasing the Gain gives the sound a sense of fullness and punch.
Combined with the built-in EQ, this allows for deeper sound shaping beyond simple compression. It seems to be very popular among guitarists, but I'd really like bassists to try it too.
The enclosure design, the LED colors and brightness, the beauty of the circuit board, the intention behind the sound—every detail is tastefully done, making it a masterpiece.
