Wood Custom Guitars is a new brand from Japan with a bold name.

Their commitment to wood is clearly linked to their quality, and their reputation has been rapidly increasing in recent years.

Artists known to use the brand include Sohei Mishima (Cinema Staff), Tatsuki Shinohara (ex Enma., Karanoa...), Aribobo (Yabai T-shirt Shop), and Hiromi Hirohiro (tricot).

This model is based on the PB motif, but is a more progressive modern bass.

This particular model was exhibited at SOUND MESSE 2025, and GIB will be selling it.

The body is alder 2P, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is roasted maple with a grained surface.

Finished in beautiful pink paisley, it has an elegant look.

The bridge is a HIPSHOT Style A, and the tuning machines are a lightweight type from GOTOH.

This tuning machine is slightly heavier than the HIPSHOT Ultralite, which is why it was chosen. (Adjusting the weight and sound in this way is also a feature of Wood Custom Guitars.)

The pickup is an Evertone PB5 DC5 (Gene).
The neck pickup is slanted to adjust the string pitch while maintaining the size of the pickup.

If the size of the pickup was made smaller, it could be mounted straight, but changing the size would affect the sound and deviate from the concept of this model, so it is mounted in this way.

The split coil pickup on the neck side and the dual coil pickup on the bridge side can be used alone or mixed to get a straightforward, clean sound without any unpleasantness.

It is not easy to balance multiple coils in the same bass, but the sense of balance is wonderful.

It is a bass that is both great PB-like and has a pure sound due to the massive bridge pickup, and the mix is also eloquent.

The preamp is an Aguilar OBP3.
The controls are volume, balancer, tone, middle, bass/treble, preamp bypass SW, and mid frequency SW.
