Sire rose to fame as a brand releasing bass guitars supervised by Marcus Miller.

The quality of the guitars and basses they produce is extremely high, and they are highly regarded even by people outside of Marcus' fan base.

This is their new P6-4.

While the models they usually produce are classic in style, this one is more modern.

The body top is made of ash and the back is made of mahogany.
High-quality mahogany from Indonesia is used to ensure both looks and sound.

The finish of the fingerboard and frets is excellent.
Naturally, for this price range, the finish is of high quality, comparable to models in higher price ranges.

The pickup layout is a PB-type split coil plus a JB-type single coil.
This is the so-called PJ style.

There is no control plate, and the controls are mounted directly on the body top.

These pickups are named the Marcus Super-PJ Revolution Pickup Set and the Marcus Heritage-3 (No-Mid Frequency).

The controls consist of volume, tone, balance, treble, mid, and bass (switchable between active and passive with a push-pull).

While models like the P7 use a mid-frequency, this model has simpler controls.

In that respect, it could be said to be a more classic active bass.

Also, by fixing the mid-range, the manufacturer has been able to design a more intentional overall sound.

I think this is something only Sire can do now, with the knowledge they have gained from producing so many products.

The sound is well-balanced from low to high, with a distinctively crisp tone.

I think even regular JB players will be pleased with this.
