KarDiaN is an up-and-coming effects pedal brand that combines advanced ideas with classic sounds.
Their products are favored by many professionals, including Tomoki Sekiya and Tamon Mori.
CHLOROFORM is an overdrive pedal with 2-band EQ.
Its unique mid-range character gives it a TS-like nuance.
Personally, I feel that the typical TS-type drive sound, which emphasizes the midrange while removing the low frequencies, is not compatible with bass.
However, I do not get such a negative image from this pedal.
One of the reasons for this impression is the good taste of the basic sound makeup, which accentuates the uniqueness of the midrange while protecting the low range, and the ease of use of the 2-band EQ also seems to contribute to this impression.
The BASS never gives the impression of spinning when boosted, and the overall volume of the sound seems to increase.
Conversely, when cut, it seems to produce a sense of loss.
Although it was not made exclusively for bass, it is such a good match that you would think it was made exclusively for bass.
When boosted, the TREBLE makes the distortion component's crisp attack stand out, while cutting the TREBLE helps create a slightly boomy nuance.
I feel that this effect is a bit similar to that of RAT's FILTER.
As a high frequency control on a bass distortion pedal, it is very excellent.
The ADD CBF model is literally a special ADD model with CLEAN BLEND and CLEAN LPF functions.
In addition to being able to mix the original sound before distortion, that original sound can be mixed with only the low frequencies, not to mention the entire range by utilizing a low-pass filter (which only lets the low frequencies through and cuts the high frequencies).
It is truly a circuit for bassists.
In fact, it is very useful, allowing you to more sensitively control the nuances of the low frequencies and the intensity of the drive to match the bass you are using and to achieve the ideal sound you are looking for.
