MXR is one of the most traditional effects pedal brands.

This unit is the M181 Blow Torch, a bass distortion pedal.

To address the biggest challenge when distorting bass—the blurring of the low-end definition and loss of core tone—this unit employs an approach that concentrates the distortion components in the mid-to-high range.

Furthermore, it features a Blend control that allows you to mix the dry and wet bass signals at any desired balance.

This allows you to create an edgy distortion sound that cuts through the ensemble while maintaining a solid, heavy, rumbling bottom end.

The tone-shaping function is also very powerful.

From thick, fuzz-like sounds to modern, scooped-mid distortion, you can create sounds to suit the needs of the stage.

The "TORCH" switch located on the side of the unit is a powerful boost switch that adds further gain to the distortion circuit.

Pressing this switch provides a significant gain boost (approximately +13dB), transforming the sound into a more extreme, fuzz-like tone that transcends the boundaries of typical distortion.

The Blend control allows you to retain the low-end of the original tone while letting the distortion components on top become thick and unruly, like a synth bass. This is an extremely useful function for creating exceptionally powerful sounds.

This is a powerful unit that we highly recommend to bassists seeking an intense drive sound that can break through the ensemble wall.

While there are slight signs of use on the exterior, the overall condition is beautiful. It is in perfect working order.

GIB's craftsmen will rigorously inspect the unit before delivery.
