Fender is, of course, the number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
It's loved by countless top artists, including James Jamerson, Bobby Vega, and Michael League. (Titles omitted)
The Precision Bass, introduced in 1951 as the world's first fretted solid-body electric bass, has been loved by bassists worldwide for over half a century.
This is a Precision Bass manufactured in 1966.
Each potentiometer is stamped ""137-6612"".
The neck end is stamped ""5JUN66C"".
These are the factors used to determine the year of manufacture.
The body is alder, and the fingerboard is round-laminated rosewood—popular specifications.
The paintwork shows signs of wear.
It appears to be a well-played instrument.
The pickups are original gray bobbins.
The capacitors are original Circle D.
The bass has been refretted, and the nut has been replaced accordingly.
The workmanship is very meticulous, and the amount of fret remaining suggests it was done in a workshop recently.
Therefore, it can be used for many more years.
The thick, open sound, typical of a Precision Bass, is truly appealing.
Yet, it retains the speed and clarity characteristic of the mid-60s.
It possesses a strength that won't get lost in a modern ensemble.
The feel of the strings bouncing on the fretboard and spreading throughout the instrument is incredibly satisfying, making it a bass you'll want to play again and again.
