ZEEK Guitars is a Japanese guitar/bass brand based in Higashi-Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture.

They primarily focus on repairs and custom orders, and excel at creating original and highly practical instruments that leverage their expertise.

Funky and MIKIDEN are known musicians who use ZEEK Guitars.

This is the Zylla, the brand's flagship model.

The body is made of basswood.

While this wood is often used in relatively inexpensive basses, its light weight and flat acoustic characteristics make it a desirable material for such instruments.

Suhr, for example, is a brand known for actively using basswood.

The body shape is carefully designed to ensure playability in any situation, whether sitting or standing.

The neck is made of hard maple, and the fingerboard is made of purple heartwood.

They refer to this as the "Z - Neck -".

This neck is one of the defining features of this model.

There's certainly a certain sound that comes from a thick neck, and this sound has certainly garnered a certain level of appreciation.

However, the majority opinion is that playability decreases as the neck gets thicker.

The Z-Neck- aims to balance both sound and playability.

This aspect requires considerable time in the manufacturing process, with each neck meticulously finished by hand.

As a result, the neck has an exceptionally high-quality feel, with an organic texture that feels natural and intuitive to the touch when playing.

This texture seems to be shared with MTD guitars, for example.

The fundamental philosophy behind this model is to create an instrument with high playability and stress-free performance that doesn't hinder the player's self-expression.

Another major characteristic of ZEEK Guitars is their finish.

This time, I ordered the "Michael Paisley" finish.

It's a cool finish with originality and a great sense of design.

The pickups are two single-coil pickups:
Mojotone / Classic Jazz Bass.

The potentiometers are made by CTS and the jack is by Puretone.

The bridge and tuning machines are made by HIPSHOT.

These hardware components are also of extremely high quality and reliability.

As you can see from the specifications, it's basically based on a JB-type sound.

Even within that, it's characterized by tight harmonics and a massive sound image.

There's a slight sense of compression, which also contributes to its playability.

A new instrument that combines beautiful design with robust construction.

There is a crack in the wood on the fretboard, from the headstock end to the 2nd and 3rd strings.

Currently, there are no problems with playability or use, but the crack may worsen depending on the storage environment.
